Thank you for using Do This First (“the App”), developed by Potato Studios. Your privacy and focus are important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

Unlike many apps, we prioritize your privacy. However, to provide cloud syncing, gamification features, and cross-device support, we collect the following limited data:

A. Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Username: Used to identify your profile and display your name on leaderboards or shared stats.
• Password: Stored securely (hashed) to allow you to log in.
• Cosmetic & Game Data: Information about your XP, Level, Unlocked Items, and Achievements.

B. Usage Data

We sync your focus history to our secure servers to prevent data loss. This includes:

• Start and End times of focus sessions.
• Duration of sessions.
• Number of apps blocked (aggregate count only).

2. Family Controls & Screen Time API

Do This First utilizes Apple’s Screen Time API (Family Controls) to function. This permission is strictly used to:

• Restrict access to distracting apps only during a focus session you initiate.
• Prevent app usage to help you maintain productivity.

Important: We do not (and cannot) see which specific websites you visit, read your messages, or track your location through this API. The Screen Time API is designed by Apple to protect user privacy while enabling blocking features.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

• Service Provision: To create your account, sync your progress across devices, and restore your data if you reinstall the app.
• Gamification: To calculate your XP, Streaks, and unlock rewards (Lootboxes).
• Public Profiles: If you choose to share your stats, we generate a public web link displaying your Username and Focus Statistics.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data as long as your account is active. You have full control over your data:

Delete Account: You may delete your account permanently directly within the App settings. Upon deletion, your username, password, focus history, and all game progress are permanently removed from our servers immediately.

5. Third-Party Services

We may use trusted third-party services for server hosting and database management to ensure the App runs smoothly. We do not sell your personal data to advertisers.

6. Children’s Privacy

Do This First does not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us, and we will delete it immediately.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our features or legal requirements. Continued use of the App after an update signifies your acceptance of the changes.
